The YouTuber-turned-boxer endured a painful defeat against Joshua in December after stepping into the ring with the heavyweight star.

Paul was brutally knocked out during the fight and sustained a fractured jaw that required immediate corrective surgery.

Since the defeat, the American has spent months away from active competition while focusing on rehabilitation.

Although he has resumed training, Paul admitted he is still unable to spar and is waiting for medical clearance as he targets a possible return before the end of 2026.

Speaking during an interview reported by Naijastreetmatters via talkSPORT, Paul disclosed that upcoming medical scans will determine whether he can safely return to combat sports.

According to him, doctors are still monitoring how well the jaw bone is healing, and there remains a possibility that he may never be cleared to fight again.

Paul explained that while the injury has gradually improved over time, he must first receive full approval from medical experts before returning to full-contact training.

He added that he has continued working out and staying fit in the gym despite being unable to spar.

The American also revealed that he lost a tooth from the injury and may need a dental implant, a development that could further delay his recovery timeline.

Paul said his main priority now is making the smartest long-term decision regarding his health and career.
