Sowore made this known on Monday during an interview on Channels Television, where he argued that activists should actively participate in politics rather than remain on the sidelines.

He stated that he fully supports Yesufu’s decision to contest, stressing that individuals who believe in positive change should take part in governance.

According to him, political engagement is one of the strongest forms of activism needed to improve society.

However, while backing her ambition, Sowore maintained that she is in the wrong political platform and should have aligned with his own party.

He said he hopes she succeeds in her political pursuit but insisted her current party choice is not ideal.

Meanwhile, Yesufu recently stepped down from the African Democratic Congress and joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress, where she officially declared her intention to contest the FCT senatorial seat.

She explained that her decision was based on a stronger political conviction and her alignment with the vision of Peter Obi, whom she described as a symbol of hope for a better Nigeria.

Yesufu also confirmed that she would be actively participating in the senatorial race, not just as a party member but as an actual candidate.

She added that she had formally exited the ADC after fulfilling her responsibilities and ensuring a smooth transition before leaving the party.
