During a livestream chat with Carter Efe on Thursday night, the singer revealed that he struggled with mental health challenges in 2022, brought on by pressure from both his family and the music industry.
He explained that the weight of trying to meet family expectations while also pushing to reach the top in the industry became overwhelming.
According to Crayon, the situation got so intense that he had to be hospitalised, where he underwent a long period of therapy.
After taking time to recover, he made a comeback with his hit songs Labalaba and Overloading.
In his words, he said, “Back in 2022, I was dealing with serious mental health issues caused by different kinds of pressure — from family, the industry, and the need to be number one. I had to be hospitalised for a long therapy session, and when I came out, I dropped ‘Labalaba’ and ‘Overloading’.”
