Speaking on Inside Sources on Channels Television, Akande criticised Atiku for accusing Tinubu of trying to turn Nigeria into a one-party state.

According to him, Atiku played a major role in weakening the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by going against the party’s long-standing agreement on rotational presidency.

Akande also pointed out that both Atiku and Tinubu share similar political thinking, arguing that they see power more as a tool for personal gain than as a means to improve citizens’ lives.

He said Atiku, after allegedly undermining the PDP’s internal agreement, is now pointing fingers at Tinubu over concerns about a one-party system. He also raised concerns about the conduct of the Independent National Electoral Commission, suggesting that it appears unclear about its responsibility to remain neutral.

Akande stressed that while both leaders may differ in tactics, they are not fundamentally different in how they approach power. He added that Nigerians must stay focused on the bigger picture, building a better country rather than getting caught up in political rivalry.

He concluded by urging citizens to look beyond partisan narratives and concentrate on issues that truly affect the nation’s future.
