Just seven months after Love in Every Word broke records with over 28 million global streams, the acclaimed filmmaker returns with its much-anticipated sequel, Love in Every Word: The Wedding; a film that weaves romance, heritage, and fashion into one visually breathtaking celebration of Nigerian culture.
The sequel premieres October 24 on Omoni Oboli TV, and anticipation is running high after the Lagos premiere flooded social media with colour, tradition, and star power. At the center of the conversation is Bam Bam’s radiant bridal transformation, a look that has quickly become one of Nollywood’s defining fashion moments of 2025.
In The Wedding, Bam Bam reprises her role as Achalugo, the Igbo bride whose poise speaks louder than her words.
Her wedding ensemble, designed by Rosie Young Official is more than costume; it’s cultural poetry in fabric.
She wears a hand-beaded red lace blouse paired with a richly embroidered Akwaete wrapper in gold, turquoise, and brown. The Akwaete, indigenous to Abia State, carries generations of craftsmanship each thread a symbol of identity and pride.
Coral beads crown her neck, a deep wine gele wraps her hair, and a black horsetail whisk completes the look, a timeless emblem of feminine strength and ancestral dignity.
Every element embodies the meaning of “Achalugo” the beauty of the people: regal, rooted, and radiant.
Designer Rosie Young recalls that the concept began with Bam Bam’s simple but powerful request: “Make me an Igbo bride.”
That statement shaped a design philosophy grounded in authenticity. “I wanted to take it home to Abia, and make something that feels like legacy on fabric,” Young said.
The result transcends fashion. It’s storytelling through texture and colour, a preservation of heritage presented with modern grace.
Omoni Oboli has long stood out as one of Nollywood’s most visionary storytellers, and Love in Every Word cemented that legacy. The original film’s honest portrayal of love, ambition, and belonging resonated far beyond Nigeria’s borders.
Now, with The Wedding, Oboli explores what happens after love begins when it meets family, culture, and commitment.
“The first film showed how love begins,” Oboli said at the premiere. “This one shows how love endures through culture, through challenges, through every word unspoken.”
The Lagos premiere on October 19 was more than a screening, it was a celebration of heritage. Guests arrived in traditional attire that mirrored the film’s spirit of unity and pride.
