Mavin Records’ golden duo, Ayra Starr and Rema, have finally given fans what they’ve been asking for; a track with just the two of them. Their new single, “Who’s Dat Girl,” isn’t just a collaboration. It’s a vibe. A warm, slow-burning reminder of how effortlessly they command a beat together.

The chorus starts with Ayra…from the first note of Rema’s verse, he sinks into his Indian-inspired comfort zone, that familiar sound fans remember from Red Potion. The beat itself feels like a slower, moodier cousin of Brick & Lace’s “Love Is Wicked”  same bounce, same sensual rhythm, but with a hypnotic, almost dreamlike undertone. His background vocals seal the mood, wrapping the whole song in that unmistakable “Rema realm” where Afro-riddim meets Indian spice.

Then comes that switch-up! Rema slips into a Rastaman cadence, firing off lines with that effortless cool he’s known for. It’s raw, confident, and rhythmic like he’s in sync with every drum hit.

The tempo is perfect for a slow whine:  soft lights, body rolls, playlists, and yes, TikTok edits. The chorus has that repeat-worthy hook that’s about to dominate social media feeds and club playlists alike.

And just when you think it’s complete, Ayra Starr glides in, all sweetness and fire. Her verse balances the energy perfectly, and her line,

“If I catch beat, I dey wan panel beat am… I dey motivate like Ken Saro-Wiwa,”

hits like poetry. It’s witty, proud, and deeply Nigerian, the kind of lyric that lingers.

Together, Ayra and Rema prove why they’re two of Afrobeats’ finest exports. Who’s Dat Girl feels nostalgic and new all at once a cultural moment wrapped in melody. I’m giving this a 10/10. It may go 10x platinum in my house.
