He mentioned that although he was born a Muslim, he had never attempted to convert his wife, a pastor (First Lady Oluremi Tinubu), to Islam.

Tinubu described how he received Islam from his parents but never tried to convert his wife, who prays for him amicably, saying, “Hate is not an option for us.” He went on to say, “I believe in the freedom of religion; we are praying to the same God,” exhorting Nigerians to put their love for one another above their differences in faith.
