Graduation ceremonies for kindergarten, nursery, primary, and secondary students in public and private schools throughout the state have been outlawed by the Ekiti State administration.
The Ministry of Education’s Office of the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Mike Omolayo, issued a circular outlining the ban, which is anticipated to go into force during the 2025–2026 academic year.
The circular states that the new policy was implemented to lessen the excessive financial strain on parents and to stop the excesses that come with these kinds of events.
While the secondary school level book review has been moved from once every three years to once every four years, the state administration claims that it is still committed to reviewing the primary school book once every six years.
