Due to his lack of a squad number this season, the Nigerian striker was left out of their opening match against Valencia on Saturday; however, the coach has addressed his confusion.
After his team’s match against Valencia at Mestalla, Francisco acknowledged that the 28-year-old’s future is still up in the air.
“Sadiq is in open discussions; there are a variety of discussions, but that does not imply that he is not part of the plans.
According to ElDesmarque, the coach stated, “I wouldn’t say for sure whether he’s leaving or staying.”
However, the coach brushed down rumors that this indicated he would have to leave.
He continued, “We’ll see how we distribute them at the end of the transfer window; there are five players who don’t have a number because they have pending negotiations.”
Last season, Sadiq, who is under contract with Real Sociedad until 2028, scored six goals in 19 games while on loan at Valencia.
Following a prior unsuccessful attempt, both teams restarted negotiations for the player on Saturday.
Marca claims that Valencia has now offered a loan agreement that includes full payment of the player’s salary as well as an extra loan fee, but does not include a transfer fee.
Real Sociedad is willing to make the move, but not for nothing, and if Valencia raises their offer to about €1.5 million, the trade might be finalized.
This summer, the former Almeria player has been connected to several teams, including Getafe, Elche, and Alaves, but nothing has come of the rumors as of yet.
