Nigerian music star Ayra Starr has her sights set on Grammy gold and global stardom following her historic achievement as the first African artist to earn a Latin Diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The 23-year-old Afrobeats sensation, born Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, reached the milestone through her international hit “Santa”, a collaboration with Jamaican producer Rvssian and Puerto Rican singer Rauw Alejandro. The track surpassed 35 million streams in the United States, earning the coveted Latin Diamond status.

Ayra Starr now joins fellow Nigerian artist Rema, whose track “Bubalu” is certified Latin Platinum, as the only African artists to receive RIAA Latin certifications.

Speaking on the heels of her latest accomplishment, Ayra shared her ambitious vision for the future, revealing her dream of becoming a global music icon.

“I want to win a Grammy, top the Billboard Hot 100, and headline the Super Bowl halftime show,” she declared confidently.
