The trial is currently running in two parts, the first of which will likely take place this month and the second of which will probably take place in the upcoming months. Products like penne pasta in 1-kilogram packages and basmati rice in 2 kilogram bags will be trialed in the first phase.
Fabric conditioner and non-bio liquid detergent in 3-liter containers are anticipated for the second phase.
The reusable packaging comes with no additional costs, and clients can choose between delivery and pickup for their refilled products.
“Most people understand the concept and how it works in a physical store, but this trial brings refillable packaging straight to customers’ doors,” stated Simon Hinks, product director of Ocado Retail, as quoted by Naija street matters
