The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) filed charges against the social media star on four counts that involved abuse of currency.
Judge Awogboro said during the sentencing that the decision would serve as a deterrent to others who misuse the naira. She handed down the cross-dresser’s sentence without offering the option of a fine.
In an interview with GoldMyneTV after his release, Okuneye advised Nigerians not to misuse the naira to stay out of jail.
“You have to obey the laws and the rules,” he stated. Don’t throw money around Kirikiri or you’ll end up a landlord.
Killing and other criminal activities are not the only things that can land you in jail. You can get there with something as simple as spaying some naira.
