A source from the Elysee presidential palace said that French President Emmanuel Macron has urged Prime Minister Gabriel Attal to continue in his role for the time being.

This morning, Attal submitted his resignation, but Macron declined.

The Elysee source claims that the president has ordered Attal to remain “for the moment to ensure the stability of the country.”
