This was revealed in a statement that was published on Wednesday, November 8 on the Nigerian Customs Service’s official X handle.

In a press briefing on Tuesday at the Unit’s Headquarters in Lagos, Hussein Ejibunu, the Acting Comptroller of the Unit, reportedly revealed this.

A portion of the statement said, “Ejibunu explained during the demonstration of the seizure that the 17 cars were taken from smugglers who sought to evade the law, emphasizing that the Federal Operation Unit Zone ‘A’ under his supervision will make the remaining portion of the year more difficult for smugglers in the interest of the nation.”
14,825 litres of premium motor spirit, 657 pieces of used tires, 202 kg of cannabis sativa, 39 bales of used clothes, 100 packs of tomato ketchup, four units of used motorcycles, 100 cartons of used soaps, and 730 sacks of hides and skin were among the additional seizures for the month under review, according to the statement.

Nine individuals were detained during the anti-smuggling operations, according to the acting comptroller, some of whom were still being prosecuted in separate states within the zone.

Ejibunu urged patriotic and well-intentioned Nigerians to keep providing the unit with reliable information to help against economic sabotage.
