The Federal Government has announced the elimination of the value-added tax (VAT) on diesel for the ensuing six months in a bid to mitigate the consequences of the recent elimination of the fuel subsidy.

Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, made this announcement after concluding talks with the top brass of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC).
