“The effort to bring member states together is essential. Out of six states in the South West, the union lost five to parks management committees.As a result, the union has lost support in the region I represent.The elders and former leaders who cast a vote of no confidence against the union’s national president, Tajudeen Baruwa, in Osogbo at the southwest zonal headquarters of the union, have not changed their minds.
According to him, “the union decided that Tajudeen Agbede should represent the zone and finish the four years that have been allotted to the southwest.”

A letter dated March 9, 2022, and signed by Kabiru Yau, general secretary of the NURTW, announced MC Oluomo’s indefinite suspension.
Akinsanya announced the Lagos state NURTW chapter’s withdrawal from the national organization after the suspension and urged the state government to seize control of the parks and garages in accordance with its 2004 white paper on Transport Union operations.
