Havertz has already finished the first phase of his medical exams with Arsenal, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Gunners will sign contracts, with the deal expected to be finalized this week.

Chelsea paid £75 million to Bayer Leverkusen for Havertz in a then-club record transaction in 2020.

And he became a fan favorite after scoring the game-winning goal in the 2021 Champions League final against Manchester City.

But Havertz, 24, has struggled to establish his preferred spot in the starting lineup since then.

Last season, he was Chelsea’s joint highest scorer, alongside Raheem Sterling, 28, scoring nine goals in all competitions.
Under billionaire American owner Todd Boehly, the Blues have spent almost £600MILLION.
However, it has forced them to reshuffle players in order to make room in the squad and balance the books. Havertz is one among those judged surplus to requirements, with Mateo Kovacic, 29, also leaving Stamford Bridge.

N’Golo Kante, 32, has also gone for Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, while Mateo Kovacic is close to joining Manchester City.

Kalidou Koulibaly, 32, has joined Al-Hilal and could be joined soon by goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, 31.
