The warning is particularly pertinent in light of an alarm raised by activist Joe Isreal, who exposed a potential scheme involving wealthy foreign buyers of child pornography. According to Isreal, these individuals aim to pool financial resources to hire a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) with the intention of manipulating the narrative surrounding the case, obstructing justice, and influencing the police investigation unlawfully.

Ikenga stated that the police are vigilant about any fundraising efforts associated with Onyeanusia’s case, assuring the public that such actions will not be tolerated while they are managing the case. He also noted that discussions about the fundraising have been integrated into the broader police investigation and may provide crucial leads regarding other individuals involved. Ikenga mentioned that the nature of the crime appears to be part of a larger syndicate, and the police are ready to collaborate with international partners if necessary to combat this issue.
