His statements were made during the launch of the Initial Public Offering (IPO) for Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals at the Nigerian Exchange in Lagos. Dangote praised Tinubu’s leadership and emphasized that the Dangote Group would continue to collaborate with the government to promote Nigeria’s development.

Dangote remarked on the unexpected progress of the Nigerian Exchange, recalling his tenure as its president and how he had hoped for reform but did not foresee its current success. He confirmed plans for a larger ceremony with Tinubu to celebrate the IPO, which offers 4.1 billion new ordinary shares at a price of N525 per share, with a minimum subscription requirement of 10 shares, totaling N5,250. The IPO is set to close on 13 October 2026, pending compliance with the prospectus conditions.
