He faced serious allegations including two counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, and two counts of assault by penetration. Close associates of Poco Lee announced on social media that the complainant had dropped the charges, which led to his release.

Support from notable figures in the entertainment industry was evident, particularly from Burna Boy and Rahman Jago, who were credited with working behind the scenes to secure Poco Lee’s freedom. One associate of Burna Boy described the allegations as false. Further commentary on the case came from streamer Peller, who also confirmed during a livestream that the complainant had abandoned the case, expressing gratitude towards her.

The arrest stemmed from incidents reported to have occurred in Tower Hamlets, east London, on July 23. Poco Lee was first brought before Thames Magistrates’ Court on August 18, and subsequently, his case was transferred to Snaresbrook Crown Court, where a plea and trial-preparation hearing has been scheduled for September 15, 2026. Poco Lee had traveled to the UK in August to participate in the Davido and Friends concert at Crystal Palace Bowl and had remained legally presumed innocent throughout the legal proceedings.
