A three-bedroom cottage in the Lako Community along the Aiyegun–Anaye Road axis of Ibadan has been demolished by the Oyo State Government. The property was allegedly utilized as a hiding place by kidnappers engaged in the kidnapping of Chief Bayo Adelabu’s younger sister and her children.
Along with members of the Nigeria Police Force, representatives from the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation conducted the demolition on Monday.
As part of the state government’s continuous efforts to stop abduction and other illegal activity around Oyo State, the team paid a visit to the property.
On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her twin 12-year-old sons, Peter and Paul, were kidnapped at Elewura in the Challenge neighborhood of Ibadan.
The state government claims that the demolition demonstrates its dedication to addressing insecurity and eliminating criminal networks that operate within the state.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to identifying and prosecuting those engaged in criminal activity as well as establishments that enable such acts.
