As Muslims over the nation celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to embrace love, tolerance, and unity.

Shortly after attending the Eid prayers at the Dodan Barracks prayer ground in Lagos on Wednesday, Tinubu addressed reporters.

The President advised everyone to consider the teachings of the season and thanked God for allowing Nigerians to celebrate another Eid-el-Kabir.

We are grateful to God, Almighty Allah, for providing for us and allowing us to celebrate another Eid-el-Kabir this year.

We give thanks to Him for His mercy, and we need to learn from this season’s lessons by loving one another. “No hatred, no ethnicity, no discrimination,” Tinubu declared.

He exhorted Nigerians to treat each other with kindness and generosity in a way that embodies the country’s ideals and common humanity.The President said, “We should share love and be generous to one another in a way that reflects the values of our country and our common humanity.”

Tinubu also emphasized the value of respect for the law, tolerance, and submission to Allah’s will.

“We must continue to be tolerant, obedient to Allah’s will, and obedient to the rule of law, which must govern our society,” he continued.

The President went on to discuss the importance of sacrifice during Eid-el-Kabir, stating that the holiday emphasizes the sanctity and worth of human life.

“Even from the beginning of existence, where we draw this from, an animal was substituted for a kid in the sacrifice we are discussing. And that is the essence of life’s worth, according to Tinubu.
