In an audio message reportedly shared on Facebook by Kogi journalist, Jeremiah Promise Enemona Ocheme, the father said the incident was not because he hated his daughter, stressing that she remains one of his favourite children.
According to him, he sacrificed a lot to ensure Ilebaye emerged victorious during the BBNaija All Stars show.
He claimed he used his contacts and influence, including reaching out to governors and other prominent individuals, to mobilise massive support and votes for her while she was in the reality show house.
Emmanuel, however, alleged that things changed after her victory, accusing the reality TV star of becoming distant and disrespectful towards him.
He said despite arranging several appointments and opportunities for her weekly, she allegedly ignored him and no longer treated him like her father.
The father also criticised her alleged cosmetic enhancements, saying he advised her against procedures like fillers and BBL because of her young age.
He further accused Ilebaye of previously attacking him physically on two occasions. According to him, she once struck him with an AC hanger, leaving him bleeding.
Speaking about the latest altercation, Emmanuel claimed his daughter insulted him before allegedly attacking him with a sea hanger, pushing him and smashing an electric lantern on his head.
He also accused her of abandoning him financially despite his poor health condition.
According to him, he requested financial assistance for medical treatment in Dubai and promised to pay her back, but she allegedly declined, even though he later saw videos of her spraying large amounts of money at a colleague’s wedding.
Emmanuel additionally alleged that Ilebaye negatively influenced her younger brother with drugs, leading to his expulsion from school. He also claimed she once advised him to end his marriage with her mother.
Despite the allegations, the father maintained that he still loves his daughter and hopes she changes for the better. He also appealed to Nigerians to pray for the family.
He added that the police had already stepped into the matter and helped settle the dispute.
Naija Street Matters earlier reported that Ilebaye and some members of her family, including her father and younger brothers, were hospitalised after the violent confrontation at their Abuja home.
The incident gained public attention after the reality star shared an emotional live video online while crying and asking for help, causing concern among fans.
Confirming the situation, FCT Police Command spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, revealed that everyone involved in the incident sustained injuries and was receiving treatment in the hospital.
She also disclosed that the siblings were placed under police protective custody as investigations into the incident continue.
