Halle Bailey, best known for her breakout role as Ariel in Disney’s The Little Mermaid, is set to star opposite Bridgerton alumnus Regé-Jean Page in the new romantic comedy You, Me & Tuscany (formerly titled Italianna). The film is directed by Kat Coiro and written by Ryan and Kristin Engle, with production by Will Packer.

The story unfolds on Italy’s breathtaking Amalfi Coast. Bailey plays Anna, a free-spirited young cook who impulsively decides to become a squatter in an abandoned Tuscan villa. Her bold move sets off a chain of unexpected romance, adventure, and lies, especially once she meets Michael (played by Page), the cousin of the villa’s owner. Their chemistry both on-screen and off  is a major draw: Bailey has spoken about how she and Page bonded naturally during filming, especially during early, intimate scenes such as their first moments together in the villa’s kitchen.

For Page, this role is a significant follow-up to his Bridgerton fame. He played the charismatic Duke of Hastings (Simon Basset) in the first season of Bridgerton. His transition from Regency-era drama to a fun, modern romantic comedy shows his versatility as an actor and Bailey’s presence gives the film fresh energy.

The production team clearly set out to craft a feel-good, sunlit escape. Filming took place in Italy, including vineyard visits and cooking-class scenes, anchoring the movie in a lush, romantic setting. According to interviews, both leads embraced the experience; Bailey even brought her young son along, adding a personal layer to the shoot.

You, Me & Tuscany is scheduled for release in the U.S. on April 10, 2026, via Universal Pictures. As a blend of wanderlust, comedy, and romance, the film promises to be a dreamy cinematic escape and a chance to see Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page in a fresh, charming light.
