Lagos, Nigeria – August 2025 – The shores of Coney Island Beach in Okun Ajah, Lagos, became a vibrant stage for the Olokun Festival 2025, an annual celebration honoring Olokun, the revered Yoruba deity of the sea, fertility, and prosperity. This year’s edition, convened and organized by HRM Olori Amb. (Dr) Omolara Fashola Macgregor, the Oluase Olokun Agbaiye and Queen of Ilawo Kingdom, Egbaland, drew thousands of devotees, cultural enthusiasts, and international visitors, reaffirming the festival’s status as one of Africa’s most captivating cultural showcases.

Worshippers dressed in flowing white garments carried offerings and performed sacred chants, invoking Olokun’s blessings of wealth and protection. Traditional rituals—including divinations and oceanic rites—were complemented by dazzling stage plays, rhythmic dances, and live music, seamlessly blending age-old spirituality with modern creative expression.
