On Monday, the current season’s housemates gathered to remember the deceased stars with a somber minute of silence after seeing pictures of them on screen. The tribute acknowledged Owumi, the runner-up of the 2006 first season, celebrated for her lively, free-spirited personality and enthusiasm for dance.

She died of a disease in 2024. Another 2006 housemate, Joseph “Joe” Ada, was honored after his death in May 2023 from health issues. The 2018 Double Wahala season’s Rico Swavey (Patrick Fakoya), who was renowned for his inventiveness and composed demeanor, was also honored after his untimely death in a car accident in 2022.
