After defeating the Atlas Lionesses of host country Morocco in an exciting final played in Rabat, Morocco, the Falcons secured their tenth continental championship over the weekend.

A number of formal events are planned to commemorate the team’s outstanding performance, which has once again raised Nigeria’s profile in African women’s football, including the presidential reception.
The team is being received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja by Governors Uba Sani of Kaduna State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, and Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, together with a number of federal ministers.

Following Nigeria’s impressive run to win their tenth continental title, four Super Falcons players—Rashidat Ajibade, Esther Okoronkwo, Michelle Alozie, and Chiamaka Nnadozie—have been selected for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Best XI.

The Confederation of African Football Women announced the tournament’s top players on Sunday through its official X handle, which was once Twitter.

The Atletico Madrid forward’s leadership and offensive flair were further highlighted when she won Woman of the Match in three of Nigeria’s six games.

With two goals and four assists, Okoronkwo made an equally impressive impression.

Her offensive efforts were crucial to Nigeria’s championship run.

After recording four clean sheets, Nnadozie was crowned the Best Goalkeeper, solidifying her standing as one of the continent’s most secure goalkeepers.

Alozie, a defender who participated in every minute of Nigeria’s campaign, was also included on the list.
