Nigeria defeated hosts Morocco 3-2 in spectacular fashion at the Rabat Olympic Stadium on Saturday to win their tenth continental title, setting a new record.
Ijamilusi was one of the players selected for their inaugural WAFCON event in Morocco, and after missing the group stage matches, she played a significant role starting in the quarterfinals.
Prior to scoring the equalizer in the final, she scored the final goal during the team’s 5-0 thumping of Zambia in the quarterfinals.
Ghizlane Chebbak, the tournament’s top goal scorer, gave Morocco the lead in the 12th minute. Sanaâ Mssoudy followed up with a goal in the 24th minute to double the lead.
Nigeria came back with a fierce performance in the second half. Ijamilusi scored the equalizer in the 71st minute after Esther Okoronkwo cut the deficit with a penalty kick in the 64th.
After stroking home Okoronkwo’s high free kick in the 88th minute, Jennifer Echegini completed the comeback.
In an X post, the gamer wrote, “Lifetime moment.”

The 24-year-old first obtained a Falcons invite in 2019 during the Olympic Games qualifiers before returning in October 2024 during the two-legged friendly in Lagos and Ikenne.
