It was noted that the fund’s endeavor to empower one million youths for healthcare advocacy by 2029 began with the campaign launch.
Dr Fejiro Nwoko, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the NSSF, stated, “The Ignite Campaign represents a pivotal step in our strategy to create a healthier Nigeria. We are addressing the urgent need for healthcare advocacy and setting the stage for long-term change by involving and training 3,000 young Nigerians.
“Our objective is to empower the youth, strengthen healthcare systems, and guarantee that every Nigerian has access to quality healthcare.”
She noted that the significant gaps in Nigeria’s public healthcare systems were revealed by NSSF’s experience in protecting the most vulnerable during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We believe Nigerians deserve better and NSSF has decided to give young Nigerians a platform to participate in creating the Nigerian healthcare system of our dreams through advocacy,” Nwoko emphasized.
In order to bridge the gap between action and awareness, she noted that NSSF has developed into a community for young health advocates following the success of previous Wenaija events.
According to Nwoko, those endeavors are intended to address sectoral issues and address youth apathy in healthcare. The fund equips young advocates to bridge the gap between action and awareness, says the NSSF boss.
“NSSF’s new strategy gives young advocates the power to bring change to their communities. She further stated that the goal of the Ignite Campaign is to initiate a movement of young Nigerians committed to enhancing healthcare outcomes and access.
