In a statement on his social media platform, Obi revealed that he received numerous inquiries from Nigerians both domestically and abroad regarding the investment opportunity presented by the IPO, which consists of 4.1 billion new ordinary shares priced at N525 each, with a minimum subscription of 10 shares (totaling N5,250). This IPO, which commenced on September 14, 2026, is set to close on October 13, 2026.

Obi expressed pride in Alhaji Aliko Dangote’s contributions to Nigeria’s economy, emphasizing the importance of transitioning the nation from a consumption-based economy to one focused on production. He advocated for Nigerian businesses to channel their investments into productive sectors and to provide citizens greater access to ownership through public offerings. By encouraging investment in the refinery, Obi aims to promote widespread participation in the re-industrialization of Nigeria, affirming Dangote’s initiative as a significant step forward for local businesses and the economy at large.
