Two lawyers in Effurun, Delta, manage to elude death at the hands of thugs in a protest

The DSC roundabout in Effurun, Delta State's Uvwie Local Government Area, is where the event happened. The lawyers were about to be slain when military forces stepped in to intervene. The attorneys, who are part of the Effurun section of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), are presently receiving treatment at the Ekpan General Hospital for severe injuries they suffered as a result of the abuse. On his Facebook page, Omes Ogedegbe recounted his experience being held captive by thugs yesterday, saying, "We were beaten but not broken down." We have a duty to guide society as attorneys. As lawyers, we took the decision to conduct a poll in response to complaints of demonstrators being brutalized. When Oghenetega Comrade and I arrived to the DSC roundabout, I was accompanied by three other attorneys. We witnessed a man describe his experiences at the hands of the goons. "With deadly weapons drawn, the thugs ambushed us, claiming they were ordered to make sure there was no demonstration in Uvwie. The police were merely a short distance away amusing themselves while the incident was occurring, implying that they approved of the attackers. God's kid cannot be defeated and released. We were able to apprehend five extremely ruthless individuals who appeared resolute in their attempt to murder demonstrators until the valiant officers of the 3 battalions of the Nigerian army arrived precisely when needed.…

NewsProtest: Lagos LG chair cautions against gathering at Amuwo Odofin

The caution was issued by Council Chairman Mr. Valentine Buraimoh in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos. Remember that from August 1 to August 10, there will be a national demonstration against hunger and the soaring expense of living. Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park, Ojota, and Peace Park in Ketu are the venues for Lagos State. Buraimoh claims that none of the state's authorized sites for the scheduled protest were in AOLG. "I am forced to warn that any meeting or demonstration within AOLG will be in violation of the court's ruling in my capacity as your Executive Chairman."I implore everyone to uphold the law and abstain from taking part in any demonstrations or meetings inside the boundaries of our local government. "Let's put our community's peace and order first," he urged. Residents received assurances from Buraimoh that he would keep up his relentless efforts to guarantee their safety and well-being.
