FIDA: International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Nigeria. The acronym FIDA comes from the Spanish โFederaciรณn Internacional de Abogadasโ
It is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political association composed of women lawyers in Nigeria. It was founded in Nigeria in 1964 by Ambassador Aduke Alakija. It has a wide reach of 46 branches across the 36 states of Nigeria + the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja).
Mission: To promote, protect, and preserve the rights, interests, and well-being of women and children using legal frameworks, so they can live free from discrimination, violence, and abuse.
Vision: A just, peaceful, and equitable Nigerian society in which the rights and interests of women and children are guaranteed, and they have the freedom to choose and live their own future.
Core Objectives

1. Enhance and promote the welfare of women and children.
2. Promote the principles and aims of the United Nations in legal and social aspects.
3. Establish friendly international relations on equality and mutual respect.
4. Promote the study of comparative law.
5. Advise the government on matters relating to women and children.
